I'm recovering from covid right now, and this is the sickest I've ever been in my life- with one exception. I had viral meningitis almost 20 years ago. 105.5°f fever. It was unimaginably horrible. And only a month or so after my first child was born.. Also my aunt survived spinal meningitis.

  2. How many doctors right now are mistakenly misdiagnosing people with something that may not be there and if it is the infection of what we're talking about that may be a possibility have an infection so bad that they didn't bother to check totally look the other way and ignored it because they don't know how to test them

  3. My aunt got it somehow through swimming as a child. She became deaf and is now blind by 30, and had multiple close calls with angle glaucoma. The meningitis vaccine makes you feel sick for a day, but definitely worth it. There are clinical trials to make it available for children, and hopefully avoid cases like my aunt.

  4. They really should have said in the video that meningitis isn't one single pathogen, it's the disease that can be caused by many different species of pathogens like pneumonia for example. I got so mad when they said meningitis could be bacterial, fungal, or viral because to most people that makes meningitis sound like some hideous monster that can shapeshift but still has the same strain of DNA to kill you. No! those are all different organisms that happen to cause the same disease.

  6. My high school Spanish teacher's daughter had meningitis. She got sick one day, and the soup didn't improve her symptoms. She was hospitalized and had her legs amputated below the knee to save her life. Shortly after suffering from meningitis, her kidneys started failing. He donated one of his kidneys to save her life as well. She is on prosthetics for the rest of her life. I don't know if she got vaccinated or not, but it permanently changed her life. She was healthy until that day.

  7. My dad’s sister got meningitis when she was a teenager. As a result, she never really fully recovered from it, one of the lasting effects being the inability to swallow. She ended up getting pneumonia and dying before me and my brother were born. To this day, my grandma always wears an angel pin on the collars of her shirts.

  8. My dog died of meningitis last year and it’s so sad to think about it because a dog can’t tell you if they feel sick or if something is hurting, so she could’ve suffered for a while from it without us knowing…

  9. When I was 6 years old I had it. I remember my mom rushing me to the er after my fever got really high. I couldn’t walk and they performed a spinal tap. Aside from the flu I’ve never been so sick. In 2010 I went to Saudi and had to get meningitis vaccine. Before that I didn’t even know there was a vaccine.

  10. I had meningitis I literally was down for 2 years in indescribable pain. My brain was on Fire. I couldn’t do anything and was lucky to have survived the attack. Then the rebuilding began. You have to build néw pathways in your brain because of the damage and rebuild your body because of muscle apathy. Took another 2 years to get back to normal. Then you have to rebuild your finances that are completely destroyed after an attack like that. I made a full recovery by the Grace of God because I never thought I would be the same again.
Thank You God and all of your Angels from the bottom of my Soul and heart.
    Thank You.

  11. Please take this seriously, my little cousin was infected when he was 1 year old. They still don’t know how he got it, but now he is wheelchair bound, suffers from vision loss and is unable to speak. He also has a feeding tube and suffers from seizures. Please get vaccinated against this disease, it is truly terrifying what it can do

  12. 2 years ago, during the first outbreak of covid 19, my mother became suddenly ill , she had a fever of 106 degrees, we took her to emergency, the docs suspected my mother was a covid patient and refused to treat her. We were told to get her tested for covid and until we got the results they wouldn't treat her. My mother was unconscious for 5 days in our home. We did everything on our part but never felt so helpless. After 5days we got the test report, my mother was covid negative. Then she was diagnosed with tubercular meningitis. It's almost 2 years now , she is still under treatment, although she hasn't suffered any major permanent damage. People should be made aware about these vaccinations and we can get rid of so much pain and suffering

  13. Maybe being antisocial and limiting contact with other people is not such a bad thing considering how much covid-19 affected the world with millions of deaths(mostly America and India with the USA having more cases than India).
